TEXT_The objective of the overall project for the redevelopment of the external spaces and the remodelling of the junction on the Avenue Stalingrad is to enable the improvement of the urban situation of the two sectors: firstly, by attempting to establish links between Fossé Jean, les Bouviers, the station and the surrounding urban area and, secondly, by sensitively improving the quality and visibility of the spaces within the Fossé Jean complex. One of the major challenges was how to positively integrate the banks of the A86 in light of the current image of disorganised parking which strongly detracts from the quality of the ensemble.
As a means of successfully renewing the Fossé Jean and Bouvier districts we are focusing on 11 themes and actions:
1. Renewing the urban links between the district and the city
2. Improving and creating a hierarchy of landscaped public spaces
3. Favouring soft modes of transport and public transport
4. Rationalising the road layout
5. Restructuring the parking layout
6. Respecting the existing plant population and reinforcing this as a means of structuring the district
7. Rendering the image of the district more dynamic by introducing contemporary architectural elements
8. Establishing an urban vocabulary using floor materials, planting and the choice of urban furniture
9. Improving the quality of lighting
10. Addressing issues of security and waste collection
